Description

Digital images of original wills housed at the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, Archives and Records Preservation, Boston, Massachusetts.

Dockets from 1638 to 1840 are in a alphabetical sequence by surname, but the docket numbers within each folder are not in sequence as they appear, but the folder does contain the docket numbers as indicated. The other set of folders contain dockets that range from 1841 to 1881 are in alphabetical sequence by surname and also in docket number sequence.

Usage Notes

As stated in the description, the documents images for 138 to 1840 are not orderly. Pages of the will, the will covers, and the index cards will appear scattered throughout one folder. One must search for the docket number found in the index which is usually hand written on most of the images.
