From the Hackers Creek Pioneer Descendants website:
The Hackers Creek Pioneer Descendants is an organization dedicated to the history and genealogy of West Virginia, especially the central part of the state. Lewis County, Harrison County, Monongalia County, Barbour County, Upshur County, Webster County, Braxton County, Gilmer County, and Doddridge County all have special interest for us; but our members research in most of the counties in the northern half of West Virginia. In addition to this website, we operate a library dedicated to genealogy and history research as well as the preservation of objects in our museum. We publish numerous research tools for the region.

We operate a library in Horner, West Virginia. Our collection is comprised of more than 5000 publications, microfilm, photos, and manuscripts. We invite you to stop by our Library Site and check it out before paying us a visit. You will find our hours of operation listed there.

The Central West Virginia Genealogy & History Library & Museum is operated by the Hacker's Creek Pioneer Descendants, Inc. The library's collection includes manuscripts, published materials, photos, maps, artifacts, and computerized data on thousands of names from throughout West Virginia and adjacent states, including additional information on most of these; however, it has a primary focus on the counties of Central West Virginia.

To assist you in your research, you may visit our Online Card Catalog. Using the references you find there, you may either come to our library and do your own research or follow the instructions given at the Online Card Catalog site to request research.
