Northern Ireland before 1922 [25 November 2012]

First, I hope I have the date correct.

BUT, before 1922, i.e., in 1900, Northern Ireland was part of Ireland. Therefore, Ireland ought to be entered as an Alternate Name for Northern Ireland.

The Wikipedia article quoted provides only what happened after 1969. It needs supplementing with a history article which may be on another Wikipedia page.

I know I could try and make these changes, but I just discovered them looking at people who emigrated to Canada in the 1800s. I knew they couldn't have been born in Northern Ireland. --goldenoldie 05:36, 25 November 2012 (EST)
