A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Sutton St. Michael from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"SUTTON-ST. MICHAEL, a parish in the [registration] district and county of Hereford; near Moreton [railway[ station, and 4 miles N by E of Hereford. Post town: Hereford. Acres: 679. Real property, with S. St. Nicholas: £2,885. Population: 95. Houses: 18. The living is a [perpetual] curacy in the diocese of Hereford. Value: £64. Patrons: Messrs. Allen and Unett."
