Straiton is a village on the River Girvan in South Ayrshire in Scotland, mainly built in the 18th century, but with some recent housing. It lies in the hills between Kirkmichael, Dalmellington, Crosshill, and Maybole.

Scottish Places states:
"The parish had an area of 211.8 sq. km (81.8 sq. miles) and 7 neighbouring parishes; namely Barr, Dailly, Dalmellington, Dalrymple and Kirkmichael in Ayrshire and Carsphairn and Minnigaff in Kirkcudbrightshire (Dumfries and Galloway).
