Stow on the Wold Rural District existed in the northern part of Gloucestershire from 1894 until 1935. In 1931 the borders between Worcestershire and Gloucestershire were altered and the parishes of Daylesford and Evenlode were transferred into the rural district. In 1935 Stow on the Wold Rural District was abolished and all but the parishes of Great Barrington and Notgrove (which went to Northleach Rural District) were transferred to the newly-formed and larger North Cotswold Rural District.
