end of Wikipedia contribution

From 1894 until 1935, Stillingfleet was located in Escrick Rural District. In 1935 the Escrick Rural District was abolished and its place was taken by Derwent Rural District which administered the local area until the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974. Since 1974 Stillingfleet has been in the Selby District of North Yorkshire.

Historically, Stillingfleet was an ancient and ecclesiastical parish in the wapentake of Ouse and Derwent. GENUKI states that Stillingfleet parish stretches across the River Ouse into the Ainsty Wapentake, but references are best made to the area within the Ouse and Derwent Wapentake.
