Southport is a town in Chemung County, New York, United States. The population was 10,940 according to the 2010 census. The town is located in the southwestern corner of Chemung County and is southwest of the city of Elmira. It is part of the Elmira Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The area was first settled circa 1788. The town of Southport was formed from the town of Elmira in 1822. In 1867, an eastern section of the town was used to form part of the new town of Ashland.
