- 1064 Mentioned in a charter (oorkonde) of king Henry IV to the bishop of Utrecht.
- 1759 Domain 'Oversliedrecht' bought by lord Collot d'Escury, merging the property with Naaldwijk (Alblasserwaard) and Niemandsvriend.
- 1795 Municipality in 'Canton Sliedrecht, Departement der Monde van de Maas' in the Batavian Republic, later called Kingdom of Holland.
- 1815 Municipality in the province of Zuid-Holland in Kingdom of the Netherlands.
- 1817 Split into Sliedrecht, Naaldwijk (Alblasserwaard) and Niemandsvriend
- 1818 Merged with Naaldwijk (Alblasserwaard) and Niemandsvriend; new municipality named Sliedrecht.
