Description

Schoenborn (meaning beautiful spring) was the original name for Gomersal, named by the Lutheran settlers to the region in 1849. The township was renamed Gomersal in 1918. Many such German-origin place names in Australia were changed during the First World War as part of the anti-German sentiment there.

Located in the Barossa Valley, South Australia.
