Description
Reinholds Station was a census-designated place and a rural post office[1] along the historic Reading and Columbia Railroad[2]. Reinholds Station is identified in A Gazetteer for the United States and Canada: Roadside Thoughts.[3] The community is also referenced multiple times in the 1910 Morton Montgomery Biographical Anals.[4]
Although Reinholds Station is no longer a individually designated community, evidence of its historic presence is still remembered in structures such as Reinholds Station Trinity Chapel and The Station at Reinholds Inn, both in Reinholds.

- ↑ Abandoned Rails: The Reading and Columbia Railroad. The Reading & Columbia Railroad was built to connect the City of Reading to the Chesapeake Bay Region via the Susquehanna Tide Water Canal, and ran its first train along newly-laid rails in 1863. It transported mainly coal, iron ore, and general merchandise. During its heydey, the railroad expanded into Marietta and Lancaster, and carried as many as ten passenger trains a day. Through the years, the railroad declined in use, until it was abandoned in 1985. Today, because of efforts of many dedicated citizens, the right-of-way was bought by the County of Lancaster and made into a rail-trail. It was officially dedicated on October 14, 1987, and is managed by the Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation. (Thanks to Andrew Lueders for contributing information about this route.)
- ↑ Roadside Thoughts. Welcome to Reinhold's Station ... Although we found mention of Reinhold's Station during our research, we have little information about it.<1> Given the context of how Reinhold's Station was mentioned, we believe that it was a community rather than some type of landmark. We have done a cursory search and if it's a community, we haven't been able to find any evidence that it still exists. While we are confident that Reinhold's Station was located in Lancaster County, we don't know its actual location within the county. We've added Reinhold's Station to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Reinhold's Station - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Reinhold's Station, please contact us.
