Pebmarsh is a small village and a civil parish in the Braintree District, in Essex, England. It is situated to the northeast of Halstead close to the A131 road. It has a small village school, St. John the Baptist C of E primary school. There has been a school in Pebmarsh since the late 18th century, however the main part of the present school has been open and in operation since 1967, serving the surrounding villages of Pebmarsh, Lamarsh and Alphamstone. In the 2011 census, the population of the village, being less than 100 inhabitants, was included in the count for the parish of Twinstead.

Sir Ronald Storrs (1881-1995), an official in the British Foreign and Colonial Office, Governor of Jerusalem, and a colleague of Lawrence of Arabia, is buried in the village churchyard.

A plaque on the church indicates the settlement of Pebmarsh was recorded, in some form, in the Domesday Book of 1086.

"PEBMARSH, a village and a parish in Halstead [registration] district, Essex. The village stands on a small affluent of the river Colne, 3½ miles N E of Halstead [railway] station; is an ancient place; and has a post-office under Colchester. The parish comprises 2,023 acres. Real property: £3,869. Population: 653. Houses: 146. The property is subdivided. The manor belongs to W. G. Puller, Esq. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Rochester. Value: £500. Patron: the Earl of Verulam. The church is old but good, and has a tower. There are a free school and charities £6."
