Mousehole (Cornish: Porthenys) is a village and fishing port in Cornwall, England. It is situated approximately 2 1⁄2 miles (4.0 km) south of Penzance on the shore of Mount's Bay. An islet called St Clement's Isle lies 400 yards offshore from the harbour entrance.

Since 1934 the village is in the civil parish of Penzance. Prior to 1934 it was part of the civil parish and urban district of Paul.

Research Tips

One of the many maps available on A Vision of Britain through Time is one from the Ordnance Survey Series of 1900 illustrating the parish boundaries of Cornwall at the turn of the 20th century. This map blows up to show all the parishes and many of the small villages and hamlets.
