Mid Suffolk District is a local government district in the north-central part of Suffolk, England. Its council is based in Needham Market, and the largest town is Stowmarket. The area was formerly in the administrative county of East Suffolk which ceased to exist on 1 April 1974.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, by the merger of

Prior to 1974, all the parts of Mid-Suffolk District were part of the administrative county of East Suffolk with the exception of Thedwastre Rural District which was in West Suffolk.
