A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Leigh Delamere from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"LEIGH-DELAMERE, a parish in Chippenham [registration] district, Wilts; 5 miles NNW of Chippenham railway station. Post town: Chippenham. Acres: 1,227. Real property: £1,772. Population: 113. Houses: 25. The property is divided among a few. The manor belonged anciently to the Delamere family, and belongs now to Sir John Need, Bart. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol. Value: £280. Patron: Sir J. Need, Bart. The church was rebuilt in 1846."

Leigh Delamere was an ancient parish in Chippenham Hundred and a civil parish in Chippenham Rural District. The parish included the hamlet of Sevington. In 1934 Leigh Delamere was absorbed into the neighbouring parish of Grittleton.

Leigh Delamere is now a motorway service station on the M4 motorway.
