La Prairie is a suburb of Montréal, lying on the south side of the St. Lawrence River in southwestern Québec, Canada. The Saint-Jacques River joins the St. Lawrence at this point. La Prairie is in the Regional County Municipality of Roussillon. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 23,357. La Prairie is a town within the former county of Laprairie.
