Kushinagar (Hindustani: or ; Pali: ; Sanskrit: ) is a town in the Kushinagar district in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site, where Buddhists believe Gautam Buddha posthumously attained Mahaparinirvana. It is an international Buddhist pilgrimage centre.
