GENUKI provides a description of Holt Hundred from White's History, Gazetteer, and Directory of Norfolk 1845. It includes information about the locality and a table showing the populations of the individual parishes in 1841.
Holt Hundred is located facing the North Sea coast of Norfolk, between the hundreds of North Greenhoe and North Erpingham. The area is now covered by the non-metropolitan North Norfolk District.

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Holt Hundred from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1871-72:
- "HOLT, a small town, a parish, a [registration] sub-district, and a hundred, in Norfolk. ....The hundred contains thirty-one parishes. Acres: 43,908. Population in 1851: 10,764; in 1861: 9,942. Houses: 2,351."
