Gloucester Barton St. Michael was a hamlet until 1866 and a civil parish from 1866 until 1885 when it was abolished and absorbed into the parishes of Gloucester Barton St. Mary and Wotton St. Mary Within. Prior to that it had ecclesiastical links with the parish of Gloucester St. Michael. Barton St. Michael may be the unlabelled parish immediately to the left of Gloucester St. Michael on the map provided by England and Wales Jurisdictions 1851. [edit] Registration Districts
