Kensington Registration District was broken up in 1875 because it covered a large geographical area with a high population density. Fulham and Hammersmith were separate metropolitan boroughs during the regime of the County of London (1889-1965). Although the registration district was named "Fulham" it also covered Hammersmith until 1915 when Hammersmith became a separate registration district. The two registration districts continued after 1965 in Greater London until 2001 when they were again merged under the name Hammersmith and Fulham Registration District.
Only two of the sub-districts listed coincide with civil parishes of the same name. |
