A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Easton from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"EASTON, a hamlet in Bridlington parish, [East Riding of] Yorkshire; on the Gipsey Race, 1 mile WNW of Bridlington. Acres: 800. Real property: £1,120. Population: 27. Houses: 2."

Easton was simply a hamlet in Bridlington parish until 1866 when it was made a civil parish. It was part of the Bridlington Rural District from 1894 until 1935 when it was attached to the parish of Boynton.

The Gypsey Race is a stream that flows east from Rudston through Easton and the southern edge of Bridlington to the North Sea.

  • GENUKI on Easton (on a supplementary page to Bridlington).
  • The FamilySearch wiki on the ecclesiastical parish of Bridlington mentions Easton as part of the 19th century parish.
  • A Vision of Britain through Time provides links to three maps of the East Riding, produced by the United Kingdom Ordnance Survey, illustrating the boundaries between the civil parishes and the rural districts at various dates. These maps all expand to a scale that will illustrate small villages and large farms or estates.
