Chipping Warden Hundred is one of two most western hundreds in Northamptonshire. Its western boundary is with the northernmost part of Oxfordshire and with Warwickshire. It has two detached sections surrounded by Kings Sutton Hundred.

The following description from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72 is provided by the website A Vision of Britain Through Time (University of Portsmouth Department of Geography).

"The hundred includes eight other parishes. Population: 4,491."
