Bracadale is a coastal island parish, which lies on the Isle of Skye in the Highland Council Area, some 9 miles (15 km) southwest of Portree and 23 miles (37 km) west of Kyle of Lochalsh and includes another small offshore island named Soay. Prior to 1975 the parish was located in the old county of Inverness-shire, which was replaced by the Highland Region and in 1996 by the unitary authority named the Highland Council Area. The parish has an area of 368.3 sq. km (142.2 sq. miles).
