Bleskensgraaf and Hofwegen are hamlets (dorpen) opposite the river GRAAFSTROOM. Both were seperate municipalities (gemeenten) until they merged into a new municipalitiy Bleskensgraaf en Hofwegen on Sept 1st, 1855.
On Jan 1st, 1986 Bleskensgraaf en Hofwegen merged with several other places into the new municipality Graafstroom.
On Jan 1st 2013 Graafstroom merged with Liesveld and Nieuw-Lekkerland into the new municipality Molenwaard.
