Birthplace and parents of Sally Wheeler [4 February 2016]

There is a problem identifying the place and date of birth of Sally Wheeler. The people who appear to be her parents, James Wheeler and Thankful Tower, lived and had all their children in Rutland, Worcester, Massachusetts. But Sally's obituary says she was born in Rutland, Vermont. Her 1850 and 1860 census confirms birth in Vermont. Could she have been confused by knowing her parents moved from Rutland to New York and thought it was Rutland, Vermont? I hope someone can help sort this out.--Gunnj 13:56, 4 February 2016 (UTC)

In this case, it looks as if the obit's informant/author was misinformed. By going to "Sources" & typing in "Rutland, Worcester. Massachusetts....." I confirmed the birth record for Sally in MA in "Vital Records of Rutland (MA)...." including her parents' marriage, siblings, her father's birth, and his parents marriage.
