Whose Daughter is Sarah? [15 November 2009]

As best I can tell, most records seem to indicate that Sarah Norton who married John Parson is the daughter of George Norton and Sarah Hart. See Ipswich vital records; her birth in 1670 matches Sarah Parsons age at death.

The only other documentation I have is from Babson's History of Gloucester, and he doesn't give her parents. Looking at the page for Joseph Norton and Mary Bayes, Sarah doesn't seem to belong there, first because her birth is in the wrong place, and second because she is not listed among the children in the notes. One person who might be able to provide more information is Charles Wainwrigt. He has a website with the Parsons family (no more documentation on the site), and has been quite active on the Essex County Mass email list in the past. In the meantime, I'm happy to go with George and Sarah as her parents until someone can provide documentation to say otherwise.
