Comments and to-do [23 November 2008]

Scot,

Thanks for this merge and for the great work on Robert Husted. While he's a direct and emigrating ancestor (of my husband), I had not yet gotten to him. (The focus of my work is really cleaning up all the info about emigrating ancestors.) This information is really grand. Thanks for adding it.

I reformatted it so it's a bit easier to read. You'll also see a few to-do's in the "Other Sources" section. If you can't get to this, I'll come back to it later. Sincerely, -- jillaine 08:29, 23 November 2008 (EST)

I saw what you did on the reformat and I think it is terrific. It's something I find difficult to do. Some time if you have time, take a look at John Austin of Greenwich, Father of Thomas m Hannah Hardy, dau of Ann Huested and Richard Hardy. The notes are a mess with much redundant material. They have been contributed by several people over the years and I have been remiss in editing them. Now that I have completed the Portugal Project, I have stared merging pages, but as I visit pages from my watch list that others have edited, I have been trying to clean up sources where I can. I see that sometime in the near future, we can finish the housekeeping and get down to serious collaboration and make this site the definitive online resource for genealogy.

Go look at John Austin. I took a crack at it. jillaine 21:25, 23 November 2008 (EST)

I can't tell if the Jacobus ref refers to the text preceding or following the cite. I don't have ready access, so can't source it now.--Scot 20:30, 23 November 2008 (EST)

Well, if you want to focus on cleaning up sources (which I've gratefully been "watching" you do), I'm happy to take a crack at cleaning up narrative. I live for that. (I've held editing responsibilities in almost every job I've ever held.) jillaine 20:51, 23 November 2008 (EST)

woo woo! what a team! Nice source clean-up, Scot. Thanks!--jillaine 21:24, 23 November 2008 (EST)

Cruxton [23 January 2022]

After reading notes from another contributor re the parish of Maiden Newton and looking at the OS map of Dorset of 1900 which marks parish boundaries, I have discovered that Cluxton is in Maiden Newton parish and the site of Maiden Newton's parish church. The River Frome flows through the area from northeast to southwest and the only crossing is a bridge from Maiden Newton village to Frome Vauchurch on the south side.

The quantity of parishes all over England has decided me to only provide articles for parishes and to redirect all subsidiary places to the parishes (with the exception of London).

Hence my changes to the names of places in your records of this family. --Goldenoldie 11:59, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
