Robert Burchfield Jr. [4 June 2024]

According to new information from the Burchfield Project in 2016, Robert Burchifield Jr (Sally Young) is the son of Robert & Ann Clark Burchifield. Proven through Lincoln County Deeds (Book 2, Pages 763-764, and Book 3, Pages 141-142). These Lincoln County deeds were filed after the death of Robert Burchfield (1710) and detailed the sale of Robert (1710)‟s Lincoln County lands. The deeds reference “Robert Burchfield of Burke County,” and “heir at law of Robert Burchfield, Senior, deceased.”

On July 12, 1784, Lincoln County, North Carolina Deed Book 2 (Page 763-764), “Robert Burchfield of Burke County” sold to Francis Cunningham the 350 acres of land on Isacc‟s Creek, originally granted to Robert Burchfield (1710) with Land Grant # 208.

On 13 March 1786, Lincoln County, North Carolina Deed Book 3 (Page 141-142), “Robert Burchfield of Burke County,” and “heir at law of Robert Burchfield, Senior, deceased,” sold to William Allen the additional 290 acres, originally granted to Robert (1710) with Land Grant #123.

These Lincoln County Deeds are the only record where any Robert Burchfield is referred to as Senior and/or Junior.--Jacie9 14:28, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
