Peter Rausch [7 March 2020]

Gayel,

Thanks for tackling my Peter Rausch problem. You were right when we discussed another case, where different sources on the same person (that I didn't catch) have resulted in mixed data. I did catch this years ago on Peter Rausch in my Legacy Program, but overlooked it when I added the data to WeRelate. Now I have a mess, that I have been trying to correct!

My relatives are connected to at least 5 different Rausch Families, from two separate towns in the Palatinate! Makes for complicated situations! Adding to the problem is the complicated relationships! For example in the Urbana Cemetery, there are over 700 burials. Almost everyone is related to every other family, in some way! By the way, there is only one cemetery in Urbana, but it is called either the Urbana Cemetery or St. Peters. Also, the same Palatine (and Swiss, etc.) families at Urbana, have many relatives at many other Wabash County cemeteries. So, like I said: "It's complicated!"

The Fisher cemetery to the south of Urbana, has only 19 burials (only 3 are Rausch), and it is NOT known as the Foster Cemetery. I don't know why they "claim" the 3 Rausch people as Urbana does? I have the home phone numbers of James Haupert, and Ron Woodward. James has died, and Ron told me for his book, that he copied James' data. So it's a mystery. The "find-a-grave" people have made many errors at the Urbana Cemetery, so I don't trust them.

I'm still having difficulties in merging people, as I mentioned before. When I check that box, and try to merge, usually nothing happens!--White Creek 07:21, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
