Person talk:Peter Parmenter (5)

Watchers

marriage [7 May 2015]

I am removing this Peter from Family:Peter Parmenter and Rebecca Unknown (1). There appears to be no reason to think it is this Peter Parmenter and several reasons to think it is not (besides the lack of quality sources and specific dates).

The son Elijah of that marriage was born in Newton. This Peter lived in Winchendon.

The Find A Grave memorial says this Peter died unmarried.

The History of Winchendon says he was found dead in his bed, which seems an unlikely description if he was married, more likely if he slept alone (i.e., unmarried) and someone went to get him.

I also believe the birthdate of this Peter has been massaged to allow for the marriage that is being removed, until it impinges on the parents' marriage date, but if this Peter did not marry, it removes the need to have such an early birth date. The 1800 census for the father shows two boys 16 or over, so born between marriage in 1777 and 1784. Not aware of any tighter constraints than that. --Jrich 15:01, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
