Person talk:Orrin Arnold (1)

Watchers

[28 March 2013]

I have taken the liberty of changing the birthplace of Orrin Baldwin Arnold to Lanark (township), Lanark, Upper Canada, Canada. This is in keeping with the fact that Ontario was named Upper Canada until 1840.

I also noted that the census places given for 1871 and 1881 were described as in Chatham-Kent. Chatham-Kent did not exist until 1998. Kent was the name of the county prior to that date. I don't see the Canadian census entries in Edit Mode. This is peculiar.

You may wonder why I looked at your tree. Two reasons: (1) I have Arnolds in Ontario--for the most part in Central Ontario, i.e., Toronto and northward; (2) in summer 2012 I revised southern Ontario placenames on WeRelate, taking into consideration the many variations that have occurred since 1970 when the provincial government obliged the counties to condense their authorities down to a viable number. Kent came up with a single authority named Chatham-Kent, most other counties wanted to retain some semblance of their former township organization.

Please understand that I have no intention of changing your family structure.
