New information:

Information from the Burchfield Project on Family Tree DNA, suggest Meshack Burchfield is the son of Thomas Burchfield & Sarah Leatherwood. Meshack states in his pension papers his father was killed by Indians on Buck Creek. Meshack Burchfield later sells land on Buck Creek. Meshack also states he resided in TN for one year, it is believed he went to search for family members who were kidnapped by Indians. Meshack Burchfield named firstborn son Thomas Burchfield, he did not name a son Robert Burchfield.

Children of Meshack Burchfield and Unknown are Thomas Burchfield (Katherine Smart), Eliza (Alexander O'Banion, Joseph Burchfield (Sally Runner), James Burchfield (Lucinda Watts), Rebecca Burchfield (Reubin Long), Judeah Burchfield (James M. Higgison), Meshack Burchfield ( Sarah Elizabeth Rone, daughter of Jone Rone and Rebecca Anderson), and Young Burchfield (Elizabeth Jones). All children were married in Warren Co., KY with the exception of Young Burchield married in Missouri. Also Eliza Burchfield's marriage has not been found. Several of Warren Co., KY early marriages were lost.
