[add comment] [edit] Given name [15 November 2015][note moved from page] [HAYNES1583-2004.GED] VR of Sudbury to 1850 gives her name as Hannah. Genealogies of the Families and Descendants of the Early Settlers of Watertown, Mass. states her name as Hannah in the records, but then says that was an error and her name should be Mary. [end of note] The birth is recorded as Mary in Watertown. John Brewer's marriage record in Sudbury says Hannah Jones. The birth of his son Josiah 1702, son Daniel 1704, and daughter Submit 1709, all say Mary (other three children have no record of birth). The probate says Mary. There is a daughter named Mary, no daughter named Hannah (even if a first wife died, it was not uncommon to name a child by the second wife after her.) As Bond says, IF he married a Hannah Jones, then she must have died, so would be a different person than Mary (i.e., not this page). However, it is more likely to be an error as Bond says, as no such Hannah Jones is obvious (no appropriate birth found in Sudbury or Watertown). --Jrich 16:25, 15 November 2015 (UTC) |
