John Sweet and Mary Greene are my 8th great-grandparents. Their son, Benoni Sweet and Elizabeth Manchester are my 7th great-grandparents. Thank you, to whoever added this family to WeRelate.

Most of the information I have is right on with what is shown on this family's family page. Some of the information I have for Mary Greene differs, however. I have her date of death as 8 Nov 1686 in North Kingston, , Rhode Island, USA. And the marriage of James Sweet and Mary Greene as 17 Jun 1662 in Warwick, , Rhode Island, USA. Mary Greene was James' 3rd spouse. My source for this family is primarily based on FamilySearch Ancestral Files: James, afn 2Z53-PL; Mary, afn 8PTG-BX.

I am changing the death date for Mary Greene to the date suggested above since the last child was born in 1674, the death date of 1659 is clearly wrong. Also since the first child was born in 1655 the marriage would not have occurred in 1662. Perhaps a source for the date and place of death and marriage can be found.

I don't currently have any good evidence for the marriage date of James Sweet to Mary Greene other than what is indicated. As their other children were born years before that date, there is definitely some incorrect or missing-information. The other two spouses shown in FamilySearch for this James Sweet are spouse: Mary PIERCE (AFN: 1XD3-6NR ) and spouse: Mary VALLINGTYEN (AFN: 1XD3-6MK ). The info for these two names is limited to their birth dates, both shown as bef 1626. Accordingly, they could be the same person, or attached to the wrong James Sweet. ~ Jim Sweet
