[add comment] [edit] The Marital Career of Mary Andrews [30 April 2012]Jacobus, Old Fairfield, page 18, says Mary "perhaps" married Peter Norton, then Hugh Griffin; p. 160, discussing Mary, wife of Simon Couch, observes, "Mrs. Schenck with happy certainty calls her dau. of Francis Andrews, which is not impossible; yet the records she quotes do not specify the relationship as her quotations seem to imply." If she were wife, either of Norton/Griffin, or of Couch, she would almost certainly have to have been born before John and Thomas, say 1644ish, moving Hannah back to about 1640 and Elizabeth to about 1642. There doesn't seem to be enough credible evidence to straighten this mess out, so I'll leave it alone and move on.--jaques1724 11:15, 30 April 2012 (EDT) |
