martin's family in ireland [6 July 2013]

Hello

My name is Debera Morrow and I live in Australia. My great great great grandfather Samuel Morrow came from Killinchy County Down in Ireland which is next door to Saintfield where Martin lived and I’m hoping that he was perhaps a cousin to Samuel from Killinchy who emigrated to Australia. I know Samuel's parents names (from Samuel's death certificate)but I cannot find any records of the rest of Samuel's family and maybe Martin's family are the ones I'm looking for or maybe there are crossovers!

I have been researching my family history and I’ve discovered that Samuel Morrow born about 1805 and his wife Jane (nee Campbell) left Killinchy in 1853 and made a new life in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, Australia.

I found records of his parents

Father: William MORROW b: Abt 1783
Mother: Margaret FINLAY b: Abt 1783
Maybe Samuel’s siblings went to America but I have been unable to find out his siblings names, so I can’t follow who went where.

I did find reference to William and Margaret’s burial: “Erected by Samuel and William Morrow of Ballygowan, to their mother Maragaret (note different spelling) Morrow, died 03/01/1830 aged 63 years, their father William Morrow died 20/12/1841 aged 77 years, their sister Martha died 23/07/1872 aged 82 years, also William's wife Mary, died 07/05/1873 aged 64 years”

If any of this sounds familiar would you please share your findings with me?

kind regards

Deb,
I'm the creator of this page because the line is represented in the Morrow DNA project. I've let the Martin descendant know of your interest. The project has not found very much on this line, but it does match an American family that first appears in Virginia a generation or two before William and Margaret were born.--Amelia 13:54, 6 July 2013 (EDT)
