The marriage of Margaret to Andrew Moore took place 18 Sep 1783. Also there is a suit of James Young vs Eakin, Margaret daughter of John is identified as being married to "Pollax". Could Margaret have two husbands? [add comment] [edit] From Martha Eakin (3): Several Margaret Eakin [13 January 2015]I believe that each child of James Eakin the patriarch had a Margaret Eakin. Here is what I think: John Eakin/Elizabeth Paxton - Margaret Eakin married a Pollock and stayed in Rockbridge. Citation: The suit in 1808 or so. James Eakin Jr./Isabella Moore - Margaret Eakin married a George Ford in 1808 (citation VA Marriages) and moved to Ohio. James Eakin Sen/Agness - Margaret Eakin married to Andrew Moore 1783 (citation VA Marriages). This "could" be a first marriage and then she married Pollock, but that doesn't seem correct. Andrew Eakin/Wife Unknown - I'm sure there is another Margaret Eakin tied to him. Just haven't found her yet or other children or the wife who I suspect to be "Isabella Eakin", a widow that appears in the Rockbridge land/Census Records 1780-90s (should not be confused with the Isabella Eakin of Botetourt Co or Isabella Moore...different Isabellas). Samuel Eakin/Mary Moore - No child Margaret Eakin that I can tell only Alexander and Jane. If anyone has anything different or more info please continue discussion. All these repeats of family names sure gets confusing.--EakinKin 21:13, 13 January 2015 (UTC) |
