Person talk:Margaret Unknown (1546)

After reviewing the John Tidd article in Dawes-Gates, my conclusion is that Margaret, if she was in fact a Greenleaf, would have to have been born too early to be a daughter of Captain Edmund the immigrant ancestor (one of mine), especially if, as has been conjectured by more than one authority, the Edmund born in 1574 died early and our Edmund was an unrecorded son of John and Margaret born sometime around 1590. Dialogue on this matter is solicited.--Jaques1724 23:10, 27 April 2011 (EDT)

I've reviewed the Mysource reference Jillaine/Gardner, William and found that except for the citation of Woburn VR for Margaret's death, all the other sources are to my-ged.com pages. I also checked Torrey (CD version with the references). He has "TIDD, John1 (-1656) & 1/wf Margaret [GREENLEAF?] (-1651). I was able to check all the references except Reed (1956) and Rathbone (1941). None of them, including Mary Lovering Holman as late as 1948 (Stevens-Miller 125) identified a surname for Margaret.--Jaques1724 11:08, 2 May 2011 (EDT)
