[add comment] [edit] Maintenance edits [29 May 2017]Hello and welcome. Because we are all working out of a common database, we have developed some standard ways to enter data. In particular, please be sure to enter dates in DD-MMM-YYYY format (ex. 12 Jan 1838). I also updated your Find A Grave citation to use our standard template which gives your readers a direct link to that site and gives you some insurance against the link breaking in the future. Regarding the change in page title, the page title is simply a unique identification for each Person page. It serves a different function than the primary display name which gets entered in the first row when you edit the page. We could have chosen to identify each unique individual's page with something else, but for simplicity, our site chose to use only the first and last name. Our program will automatically assign an index number in parenthesis for each name combo, so you don't have to worry about entering that. If you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to ask questions, either here or on our Support page. I hope you enjoy working here. --WRadmin2 20:36, 29 May 2017 (UTC) Thank You for the information and correction. I have to remember that WeRelate doesn't order the dates the way I want them as does my Gen program. Thanks again! --Julie 20:52, 29 May 2017 (UTC) |
