Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 26, over the remains of Dill Berger, who succumbed to Bright's disease after a persistent battle for recovery. Many people were present to pay their last respects to one who had been active and useful in business circles for many years. Mr. Berger was aged only 51 years. He was a man of good business qualities, being shrewd, tactful, jovial and industrious. The Berger and Sterling general store was a business place that is well known in both Wayne and Holmes counties. It was with deep feeling that he was laid away and it was difficult to realize that the places he knew shall know him no more. Rev. Crites conducted the services, Mr. Berger having united with the M. E. Church during his illness.

Mr. Berger is survived by a wife, one daughter June, a mother, several brothers and sisters. It is a noteworthy fact that our town and community have lost a number of our young and comparatively young business men in the past year, men who were active and valuable. John Moore, who was buried more than a week ago, was less than 50 years old, and Joseph Cutter less than 40. The loss of these 3 men of affairs will be greatly felt.
