Person talk:Katherine Westcote (10)

History of the Jackson Family by Robbins [30 August 2013]

Per the copy on heritagequest.com, everything on p. 250 is 1884 or later. Neither Thomas Moore nor Katharine Westcott is listed in the index??? --Jrich 22:59, 30 August 2013 (EDT)

don't have access... [31 August 2013]

But I am intrigued by a snippet in Winthrop Papers Vol. 6, p. 205, footnote 1, which mentions "Katherine Warren Doxey, former servant of JW2 and widow of Thomas Doxey." The following footnote makes some reference to Benedict Arnold's letter to JW2 on Thomas Doxey's debts. The fourth footnote says Katherine Doxey married Daniel Lane, and further I seeth not (due to it being a snippet). The google search brings up a page of the index which indicates several mentions of Thomas and Katherine Doxey and their son and should be investigated. The letters would add authority: it is clear the editors (see footnote here) clearly think she was Katherine Warren, not Westcott/Westcote. --Jrich 00:33, 31 August 2013 (EDT)

For the basics of the theory, look for Kathryn Waring on this webpage. Still need to investigate Winthrop Papers. --Jrich 20:35, 31 August 2013 (EDT)
