Person talk:Joshua Wheeler (1)

probably does not belong in this family [12 October 2011]

The baptism for Joshua (Source:TAG, p. 27:120) does not attempt to distinguish the "John Wheler" who is listed as his father. There are at least three John Wheelers, if not more, having children in Cranfield at this time (plain, "of Doswell", "Sen.", "of the Towne ende", of "East End", "joiner"). Brainard in his article has appeared to be very indiscriminate by mixing various children up in one family. The will of John Wheeler does not mention a son Joshua (Source:TAG, p. 28:143) and there is no burial record to justify the lack of mention. As the burial may not have been recorded, since Joshua fits, and because usually plain John Wheeler does refer to this family, I am not removing him, but believe he probably does not belong here. Perhaps someone with access to other sources can resolve this ambiguity. --Jrich 09:43, 12 October 2011 (EDT)
