What evidence indicates that Joseph Smith of Hartford is a child of this particular couple (Christopher Smith and Alice Gibbes)?--jaques1724 01:51, 29 January 2016 (UTC)

I just completed connecting all the kids of Christopher and Alice Gibbes Smith. All but the last one (Thomas) were baptized at Holy Trinity Church in Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire, England. Chris and Alice were married there one week after William Shakespeare was buried in the Chancel. These baptism records are supported by 16 matching yDNA tests from descendants of William, Joseph, Simon, Benjamin and Edward.

This newly connected family will be the subject of an article in the next New England Historical and Genealogical Society magazine, American Ancestors. The article, "William Shakespeare and the Christopher Smith Family", will be published in the next few days (February 2016 issue.)--Kitty 03:00, 29 January 2016 (UTC)
