The birth date of 25 Oct 1636 in Salisbury came originally from here and ended up on this page through a series of merges. No sources was ever given. The problem is that Salisbury VRs have no such record, and according to wikipedia:Salisbury, Massachusetts, it wasn't settled until 1638. So in 1636, if correct, it would have had to have meant Salisbury, Wiltshire, England, but that would hard to accept without a source, especially since there is some reason to doubt this date in the first place. Cornelia Williams, the author of several genealogies of this branch of the Williams family (Source:Williams, Cornelia Bartow. Ancestry of Lawrence Williams, Source:Williams, Cornelia Bartow. Descendants of John Williams of Newbury and Haverhill, Mass., 1600-1674), says that the son John petitioned a court in 1652 suggesting he was born by 1631 to be of legal age (in England undoubtedly).

Cornelia Williams further suspects that because John and Sarah appear so much older than the last 3 children (10 year gap), they probably had a different mother, not Jane. --Jrich 11:15, 26 June 2011 (EDT)
