Person talk:John Webster (3)

Is the English ancestry of Gov John Webster known at all? [12 November 2012]

I have been searching for a source for the given and often repeated ancestry for Gov Webster for awhile now, but everything I can find says that his ancestry isnt known at all. I cant even find the original source for the conjecture that is given on this page. It isnt that I completely doubt the given ancestry, but I would like to see the source for it (should one exist) so I can properly source his and his family's pages. EDIT: NM, I found the two articles in TAG that lay them out, although they arent very detailed. --Daniel Maxwell 16:29, 12 August 2012 (EDT)

It's pretty obvious that what currently exists is - as you say - the often repeated ancestry - from a variety of GEDCOM uploads without any support. If you've got a couple citations from TAG on point - even if weak - please add them. If, after that, you think that the current ancestry is unsupported, put a Disputed Lineages section on the Person page, summarizing the concern so that it will carry along with any GEDCOM that might be generated using this page. --jrm03063 10:37, 1 October 2012 (EDT)
The Connecticut State Library page cites Skillington in TAG - presumably what you're looking at? --jrm03063 10:41, 1 October 2012 (EDT)

As I said, I found the sources for the current parentage. Whats up there is mostly right, some details were wrong and there is unsourced extended parentage for a couple of the wives but it isnt too off. The list of children of the Gov is based off the old Webster genealogy so there are some mistakes but I am fixing them now.

I couldnt find anything on him because AmericanAncestor's search engine didnt work for me for the longest time. I know see it was covered in 2 articles in TAG, and they are the most current and up to date information on him and his wife's families.--Daniel Maxwell 05:27, 12 November 2012 (EST)
