Person talk:Jacob Sinnema (1)

Watchers

From Jacob Sinnema (22): [20 May 2011]

Ben, this Jacob appears to be a duplicate of Person:Jacob Sinnema (1). His birth certificate says his mother was Sytske Jacobs van Dijk, but I don't see any other record of a person by that name. --Jennifer (JBS66) 07:32, 20 May 2011 (EDT) The funny thing about the birthcertificate is that it is not signed by the father. I can also find no marriage between Auke and Sytske. I found something in Dan Sinema's book but this reflect to a birth of Jacob Aukes Sinnema, born on 27 november 1838, 5 years later then the other Jacob and for that I cannot find a record in Tresoar. I will dig into this problem and report to you later on.--Bensinnema 08:35, 20 May 2011 (EDT)

I'm leaning towards the theory that Sytske is a mistake. I can't find a record of any Sytske born around 1813 to a Jacob. I wonder if this is a confusion with Auke's parents (Jacob and Sytske Aukes) somehow. --Jennifer (JBS66) 09:00, 20 May 2011 (EDT)

Jennifer, I have looked into my notes and and 4 years ago we (another Sinnema and myself) found out that it must be a mistake because he did not declare the birth by himself and also with his second child he refused to do it (hope declare is the correct word for aangifte). That's why I added Dieuwke Tjeerds Burmania as the mother of both childs.--Bensinnema 10:46, 20 May 2011 (EDT)

Thank you for looking into this! It's interesting that he didn't declare his second child either, I wonder why? Well, I'll merge these two families together and make a note about the incorrect parent on Jacob's page. --Jennifer (JBS66) 11:52, 20 May 2011 (EDT)
