Date and place of death for Henry Gay [5 January 2010]

What is the documentation for the date and place of death for Henry Gay? This information is not in Boddie's Historical Southern Families, Volume II. I know that he was probably dead by 01 May 1689 so 1688 sounds reasonable but where did the exact date and New Kent Co. as the death place originate? --Beth 18:46, 3 January 2010 (EST)

I have added all my background data on this subject to the family page of Henry Gay and Joane Saunders. Check it again and you will have a lot of info that was not there previously. The family page is fine. The data that you added is from Boddie and the original sources referenced need to be checked and added. When Boddie cited no sources then his conclusions are suspect and need to be researched independently before drawing any conclusion. I plan to upload the patent images to Henry's page when the Library of Virginia download capability is fixed. It has not worked for at least one week. Hendricks has no sources on Rootsweb. I eventually plan to redirect Henry Gay and Joane Saunders to Henry Gay and Joane Unknown and remove the death dates for both and substitute something I can document and remove the birth date for Joane unless you can provide documentation for the assertions. I will place your assertions in the notes and hopefully someone will come forward with documentation.
