On sheet 43 of the 1865 New York census for Jasper, Steuben County, the Hannah Ball mother of Jeremiah Raner is recorded as being the mother of 11 children, being twice married, and is now married, though no husband is in the household. Jeremiah is listed as 29 years of age, and Hannah at 64.

Hello, I found out more about Hedden Ball's children from his first marriage. If you count them as well as the Raner children it adds up to 11 children. I do not understand why they are consistently in separate household in the Federal census though.
