I believe Hannah was the sister, not daughter of John. His will mentions her children as his niece and nephews.--Scot 12:42, 3 January 2011 (EST)
- Great Migration (John Evered alias Webb entry) quotes his will as mentioning "my cousins John Eyres, Robert Eyres, Thomas Eayres, Peter Eayres, and Katherine Eayres of Haverill and the wife of John Asleby of Andover, and if there be any more brothers or sisters of that family... not named herein, yet the same to have an equal portion," and says that Rosalie Fellows Bailey argued in New Engladn Heritage of Rousmaniere, Ayer, Farwell and Bourne Families that John Ayres d. 1665 was the son of John Evered alias Webb, grandson of Noaha Evered alias Webb, and that his mother was the sister of John Ayers. That would make John and Hannah Ayers' children John's first cousins.--Amelia 00:35, 31 October 2011 (EDT)
- And upon further investigation, perhaps Hannah's father (and maybe her brother too) was named John, but it wasn't the immigrant John born around 1611, since Hannah was having children by the early 1640s. I'm going to remove the template from John b. 1560.--Amelia 00:41, 31 October 2011 (EDT)
According to this website, the identification of Hannah as John Evered alias Webb's sister based on his will is based only on the "cousins" reference and not supported by English records. However, this page also repeats the mangled migration story for the Ayers, so its reliability is suspect.--Amelia 14:37, 6 July 2012 (EDT)
