Adpotive father? [29 January 2016]

Hi, Ron

Looks like Garrit should not be listed as a child of Albert Luesink. I can understand how you might want Albert recognized as the man who raised Garrit, but Garrit should have only one father listed, not two.

There are a number of different ways you can provide recognition for Albert without giving Garrit two fathers. One is to add a text statement in his biography with a hyperlink to Albert's page (and a text statement in Albert's with a hyperlink to Garrit). Or you could put the links in the description field of an "Other" event, with a comment about Albert adopting or raising Garrit. Finally, you could make use of the Adoptive Parent template. Whatever feels best to you. But he really should be removed as a direct (biological) son of Albert unless you know for sure that Albert really is his father. In that case he should be listed only under Albert's page, with a note that he was born before his parents marriage. (Well, it did happen.) Thanks, --GayelKnott 01:05, 30 January 2016 (UTC)

Wettiging means acknowlediging. It is true that acknowledging is not necessarily the same as accepting fathership.
